Big Red's Story...
Hello, the Ark named me Big Red. The doggie doctor thinks I am a Blood Hound. My coat is red except for a little white on my chest. I was a stray
with no where to go. A kind man found me and brought me to the ark. I am a big fellow and I weigh 98 lbs. Don't let my size scare you. I am a happy-go-lucky, affectionate, loyal and sociable guy. I have plenty of energy because I am only 2 years old. I am taking classes at the Ark on how not to pull hard on the leash when you are walking me. I get kind of excited when I hear a squeaky toy and act like a Mac Truck. Please be aware of the truck when you squeak the toy! Can you give a big guy like me a loving forever home? When you come to the Ark, ask to see Big Red. That's me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Big Red, a Huntsville Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
