My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LUCY HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Meet Miss Lucy, a delightful, charming and beautiful female Husky/Border Collie mix (?). Lucy was found as a stray in rural Kentucky so her breed and age is an educated guess. This sweet lady was found heavily pregnant by a good samaritan. They took her in but knew they would not be able to care for a mom and new born pups so they brought her to a local animal control facility. A chaotic and crowded pound is no place for a new mama to raise pups so a plea for rescue was sent out. We heard the plea and got Lucy and her precious newborn puppies up to Chicago where they were placed into an experienced and nurturing foster home. Lucy has been a phenomenal mother to her 8 pups. Her babies are now 8 weeks old and ready to find their forever homes and so is Lucy! She is extraordinarily friendly and absolutely adores people! She loves making new friends and is filled with tail wags, snuggles, and kisses for everyone she meets. Lucy is also being fostered with several other dogs and does well with them too. Lucy is quiet and well behaved in the home and is crate trained and housebroken. She is a bit of a climber though and easily hops over the baby gates in the home. She would need a 6-foot privacy fence in her new home or a family who does not mind leash walking. She will climb over a chain link fence. She is playful and active, but not as high energy as some dogs of her breed type. Still, she is young and will benefit from a home that can provide her with daily exercise and mental stimulation. Lucy is anxious to meet her forever family, could it be yours!? Lucy is now spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee to the rescue is $275. She is in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved.
