My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHARLIE is 3-year old Beagle mix (mostly Beagle) and weighs 40 lbs. He a very sweet and loving dog and loves all people, other dogs and even okay with the cats. Charlie is a happy boy, always wagging his tail and enjoys running around the back yard, playing with stuffed animal toys that squeak, and can even catch treats, balls and toys too!

It is impossible to understand how a nice dog like Charlie ended up at a kill shelter in Southern Indiana due to his owner turning him in because he was "unwanted". Unbelievable! I have not seen one bad habit in this dog at all! The poor thing was so dirty he probably never had a bath in his life, and when I gave him one, brown water flowed out of him down the drain during the rinse. He appreciated his tubby time and seemed to feel much better afterwards... and smelled better too! Charlie is the coolest, loyal, obedient and fantastic dog imaginable! He is crate trained, housebroken (not one accident), and after only a couple days blended nicely with the family here at his foster home. Charlie is only crated when foster mom leaves the house, and at bedtime, but it's a fairly large crate and he can walk around in it, so he is very comfortable laying on some pillows. I believe once Charlie is adopted he probably would not need to be crated at bedtime.

Sometimes Charlie will gently stand up against me and seems to be asking me to scratch his chest and neck. So I do, and then he turns his head sideways and pants in enjoyment! Charlie likes going into my car too, he must have some car rides in his past... even though his last one in Indiana was to the shelter, he is such an easy going boy, I guess not much bothers him. Charlie was already neutered when he was turned in, so all that was taken care of awhile back. He is up-to- date on his vaccinations, is on monthly heartworm preventative, comes with free micro chipping and registration, and his adoption fee is $200 (cash or check only). For more information on Charlie, you can contact his foster Mom Debbie 630-272-1109 or email at coachdebbi@aol.com
