Tara's Story...
TAR

"Hi! I'm Tara! I'm about 6 months old, weigh 11 pounds, and I am a mix of many things, most likely some Dachshund. My foster mom rescued me and my dog family from living in a dirt den on the back side of Tome Hill. Another really, really nice lady had been feeding us. All the other dogs had gotten in the lady's crate, but not me! I was a Warrior and I wasn't going to go with these scary new beings! Then Suzanne came and pulled me out of my den and held me and let me know I was going to be alright. She saw that my back leg was bad and I couldn't feel it, so I had to have a surgery to remove it, but that doesn't slow me down. I am still really shy, but I have come a long way and I am house trained now and I walk on a leash. I love sleeping in my crate because it reminds me of my den and I feel safe in it. I really want a quieter family that understands that not all of us are big and brave, and who knows that's it's okay to be scared sometimes." Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tara, a Tijeras Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) puppy from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
