Meet Jefferson :)
He loves to play but tends to be shy and reserved in new surroundings until he is comfortable. He greets other dogs and most people with a wagging tail but can get shy on contact. He definitely is more fearful and reserved with men and he would require a home with no small children. He tends to gravitate more to women and adults who are sitting rather than standing. But Jefferson is brave guy who is working towards being confident around everyone.. so it will take time to get him comfortable in new surroundings but he doesn't have a mean bone in his body! When he is afraid or unsure of things he just tends to avoid or hide.. he isn't reactive, barking or mouthy at all. His foster mom describes him as ridiculously sweet, loving and cuddly.. he is most often found cuddling up with her or the other dogs in the home :) He absolutely loves other animals and gets along with them all - any shape.. any size!
Jefferson is estimated to be around 1-1/2 years old and he is currently 44lbs.. he has a loving temperment and would love a chance at a forever home!
If you'd like to meet him and take it slow on adoption we would love to schedule a meet with you and our trainers who are working with him on his confidence. He has so much love to give and we hope to find a patient and loving family to show him all that he deserves!
Adoption Process: Anyone interested in meeting our adoptables must complete an online application, which is located on our website. Once the application is approved we will set up a meet and greet with the animal to ensure a good fit and then before adoption is complete we will schedule a home check to ensure a safe environment for the animal you are looking to adopt. We do not do on-the-spot adoptions and we do not adopt out animals by a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to fit everyone of our animals to the best match possible!
