My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Moana is the sweetest little thing on 4 legs who lives up to her name! She is an 11 month old Pit mix with a beautiful tan brindle color. Moana came to our rescue through the CACC where she had been since early May! She was picked up as a stray which is funny because she doesn't stray far away from her humans at all. She lives for human interaction!

Moana loves all other dogs! Her foster siblings are 2 males and one female and she enjoys playing with all of them. She fit right in with all 3 and became a member of the pack almost immediately. She is happy to play with them or content just being in their presence. If they are playing, she will join in. If they are napping on the couch, she is perfectly fine laying next to them. You can see she is learning what to do, by watching them and that is amazing to witness.

Moana has a little trouble getting into the car by herself and needs a little prompting. When the other dogs are with us, she will let them all climb in first and then will get in herself with no trouble or prompting at all. When she is by herself its a little different. Once in she is a champ in the car! Moana only makes her piggy noises (which is ALL the time ;) and searches the backseat for stuff she hasn't yet encountered yet. And once the backseat has been throughly searched she lays down and naps. Getting in the car is where she has some trouble. If she doesn't take the prompt to get in on her own, she will let you pick up her small hippo body and place her in. If Moana is super tired from the day, there is a good chance she won't get in the car without having to pick her up. We think she doesn't like getting in the car because it may mean to her that the fun good time is over. But the more time she spends with her people, the more she will realize that the fun good time for her will never stop!

Moana is a super playful pup! She doesn't discriminate against adult humans, young humans or canines. If your willing to be a play partner, she is game! She is pretty much potty trained but it takes a little time after transitions to fully pick it up. Moana's fosters use the "bell system" with their resident dogs and Moana observes her foster siblings and does what they do, so if a future home wants to use this system it will be great!

If you want someone to cuddle with, Moana is your dog. If you want a play partner, Moana is your dog. If you are looking for another dog to add to your dog pack, Moana is your dog. If your looking for a swimming companion, Moana is your dog. She is literally an all around great dog!! She has barely barks at all, even when in her create. The only noises this little girl makes are the adorable little grunts she does all the time! She makes her piggy noises whenever she is happy and she has been happy a lot since arriving here! She take cues from her foster siblings and you can see her learning from them which makes her super smart too! Did I mention this little girl loves the water? Being named Moana she would have to love the water. And I mean she LOVES the water, it definitely calls to her LOL! She dunks her entire face into the water dish! If there is a pond, a pool, a lake or just a puddle of water on the floor, Moana must roll around in it!
