My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Dinah. I am about 1 year old. My mother was a purebred American Bulldog and my father was a Mastiff or Mastiff Mix (so we were told).  I am not sure how big I will get.  I am about 50 to 55lbs now, so not as big as a mastiff. Dinah has alot of puppy energy and needs plenty of attention and play time. In her previous home, she lived with four other dogs and several cats. Her family lost their home and could not keep her. When Dinah came into rescue, she was young and a little shy, but still very friendly. She has been in several foster homes and has become insecure. For some reason, she has become quite fearful of new people and new situaions. At this time, I would not trust her around cats or small children. Dinah is in a new foster home and will be working on her fear issues and on socialization. She is very smart and I know she will make great progress. She is crate trained. She would not be the right breed for a first time dog owner. Dinah would do best with a fenced yard to play in. She played with several dogs in her last foster home. However, she is strong and she liked to play really rough. She would do best as the only dog or in a home with a dog as big or bigger than she is. If you think you are the right home for Dinah, please email for an application.  Once she gets to know you, she is very friendly and wags her whole back end.  She knows sit and come and is working on leash training.  She loves to chew on Nylabones and play with her stuffed toys.  She also likes to ride in the car and go for walks, as long as no people are around.  Update, Dinah is going to obedience class right now for six weeks.  She is doing very well and is becoming less fearful of strangers.

Dinah is spayed, up to date on shots, and heartworm negative. She will be checked for and treated (if needed) for ear mites, fleas, and worms before going to her new home.

The adoption donation is $150 and helps offset veterinary care received.
