Michael's Story...
(Michael, black cat 3yr old male, Gabriella, tabby 1yr old female)
My name is Michael. I came to the shelter hurting. My eyes were ulcerated, and I was blind. I trusted the kind voices that spoke to me though, and now I am all better. My right eye was too bad to save, but my left one still sees shadows.

Now, I'm looking for someone kind to take me, and help me feel safe. I love people, and I love other cats, especially my tabby friend Gabriella! She sits with me and grooms me, and is the kindest cat I've ever met. Being blind doesn't affect me much. I learn my environment quickly, and adapt to it. I'm still a pretty young guy, about 3 years old. Stop by sometime and say hello. I love to sit in people's laps and hang out!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Michael, a Mineral Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Mineral, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Mineral.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mineral already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mineral breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mineral paves the way for another one to be saved.
