Sophie is one of the sweetest dogs I have had the pleasure to foster. Her owner got too old to take care of her so she asked us to help out. Sophie may be short and sweet but she is quick to set her foster brothers and sisters straight if they try to push her around. She likes her comfort and is quick to find a nice soft place to curl up and nap. She loves snacks and pats on the head and is learning to snuggle. She is calm and steady possessing above average dignity and intelligence. A good personality description can be found in yourpurebredpuppy.com "Dachshunds attract devoted followers who would never consider having any other breed. ... Though bright and clever, Dachshunds like to do things their own way."
For more information about Sophie call her foster dad, Paw, at 870-291-0365 or email at kylepigman@verizon.net. To apply to adopt her go to icare-ark.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Melbourne Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Melbourne, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Melbourne.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Melbourne already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Melbourne breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Melbourne paves the way for another one to be saved.
