My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We rescued bear from a kill shelter and we have very little information on him. We were told he was Burmese mountain dog and Australian shepherd mix  and our vet said she thought he was great Pyrenees's mix. The pound said he was around 2 years old and the vet thought he was a much older dog based on his teeth. She thought he might be around 10. Temperament is very lazy and low energy dog but he suffers from anxiety and separation anxiety. He hates sudden movements, loud noises, and he lashes out when he becomes scared. He is also afraid of the dark and he follows me everywhere. We tried training but after he snapped at our 8 year old, we felt it wasn't a safe environment for us to keep him. We tried trazadone treatment but then he attacked our smaller dog so I don't think it was working for him. He likes to sleep, he plays with balls, and his favorite thing is to swim. He has his own doggie pool and he likes to play and splash around. He is a beautiful dog and is very loving but he just needs better training,
I think and to be somewhere without small children and other dogs. We have a cat in the house with him and he doesn't pay any attention to him. Everyone that has seen him has instantly loved him. It is breaking our heart to get rid of him but we have to do what's best for us and for bear. He is upto date on all shots. He is completely house trained with no accidents. He does like chewing cords, sometimes.
Bear is located in Oak Hill, Ohio 45656. Please email Carrie clcdugan@gmail.com. Bear is still with his family and not at our sanctuary.
And thanks so much for your consideration of a dog in need of a new home.
