Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This guy and his brother Skipper (also posted), were found running up and down a busy highway. The owners were found and said they didn’t want them any longer and surrendered them to our rescue. Scooter was not as badly matted as his brother, but he was matted, so he got a new summer haircut too. He was such a good boy when we were shearing him…he really never moved…guess he knew we were trying to help make him feel a little better. Their owners didn’t pay them much attention and allowed them to run all over creation unattended. They will need to be taught a few manners and rules, as well as what it’s like to be a pet and what is expected of them in their new homes. He’s a super sweet and happy boy…the more submissive of the two. He gets along well with other dogs and seems to do better with another dog. He a pretty good boy, never bothers anything…keeps his kennel fairly clean, doesn’t turn his bowls over, etc. A fenced in backyard would be ideal for him too, because he will need room to run around and explore. Scooter would love nothing more than to start over with a new family that will care for him and love him like he deserves. He is 2 years old, weighs 16 pounds, has been neutered, 4DX heartworm tested and microchipped. He’s also current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $400.
Scooter is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted he will be transported to his pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the New England area every week and his fee does include transportation.
