Here's what the humans have to say about me:
/30/2017 – Update on Rocky
Rocky is settling in and doing very well. He now loves playing with our 2 resident younger dogs and has learned our older guy just wants to be left alone. He will do sit-stay before getting his food & is not nearly as jumpy as when I first met him. He is still very puppy so he does like to take off with socks & random objects but gives them up when asked. Loves playing with toys and will return the ball when playing fetch. He will still need someone who will work with him and have patience while he finds his way. He is such a love and if you love a mushy Boxer face Rocky is your guy!
Rocky is a very handsome 73 pound boxer boy that just turned a year old on June 23rd.
Due to a few changing circumstances Rocky was spending a big part of the day/night in his crate. His person felt she could not give him the life he deserves so she reached out to us for help. Rocky will need a home that understands a young boxer boy & must have the commitment to follow through on giving him the time & training he needs. He will also need a home that can be patient as he is introduced to new environments, people & activities. He has not had a lot of exposure to things beyond a crate life so he has some fear of doors & other new spaces. This is not the dog you will be taking for a hike or trip to the pet store in the first few weeks. He lived with 3 small dogs in his prior home and is currently adjusting to our 3 resident bigger dogs. I feel it would be best for him to have an easy going dog as a friend or would be fine as an only dog. He has no idea how to play with our dogs at this time & prefers to be with one of us. He will try to dominate at times so he needs a firm human to direct him the right way.
Since he is young & large I would suggest a home with kids 10+ since he has no clue of his size. He still needs to learn some manners & needs leash training but with patience will be a great addition to the right home. He was at the vet today for a checkup & shots and is now ready to find his furever home. If you are interested in hearing more & think you can be his happily ever after please visit www.fassasfriendsboxerrescue.com to submit an adoption applicationfound under the adoption tab on the website's page, to get things started. If you are an approved home already contact us for more info. Prior home said he is not good with cats.
