My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tank is a great Olde English Bulldogge. He loves his person and wants nothing more than the attention he may get from his new mom or dad. After he was rescued he went into the New Leash on Life program and did well there with a very consistent schedule and 24/7 attention from one person, his inmate trainer. FurBabies is in partnership with The NC Department of Public Safety and the New Leash on Life Program and Tank went through the 8 week training program. It is a WIN/WIN/WIN... A WIN for the Inmates because they have the opportunity to work with the animals, which gives them a purpose and an opportunity for employment when they are released from prison, a WIN for the dog because it receives it’s Canine Good Citizenship training which is a 10 basic command training program, and of course a WIN for the new owner who gets a great, trained rescue dog. When he left the program he became anxious again at the kennel so we decided to try some medication to allow him to decompress and that is what he has done. He is now living in a foster home with 5 other dogs. The only reason we suggest he be the only dog and no children is that we believe given the individual attention he needs he will not need to continue the medication and will settle in to be the dog you can see beyond the surface. He is not destructive with his anxiety off the medication. He just paces and appears stressed. He does not have separation anxiety when left alone he settles down and sleeps. If you read about Olde English Bulldogges he is a pretty typical specimen of the breed.
