My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Change can be scary.

No, silly! Not like nickels and dimes kind of change! (Although quarters seem awfully suspicious... why are they so big? And why does the picture of the man look so serious? Is he mad that he didn't get more ribbons in his ponytail? I think it's pretty and he should be happy!)

But I mean life kind of changes. I've never been a fan of change. So when I came here, I was pretty scared. But after a while, things seemed to be okay. It wasn't like a home or anything, but the other cats were nice enough and the people played with me and gave me toys and I got to climb on cat trees and stuff.

But then they put me in a cage and I was like, "Uh oh, this is it. Something BAD is going to happen. I knew it!"

But nothing bad happened. They gave me a new kind of food. Weird food that I never had before, but it tasted okay. Then something began to happen. I've had this... this itchy spot on my side for years, you know? So itchy I would have to lick it and lick it and well, it ended up being a big hole in my skin. But lately, it hasn't itched! It's the weirdest thing because it's actually healing! Healing! After nearly ten years of being itchy, it's getting better! Wow.

So I guess change can be good! And even though I'm in a cage now, people still come to play with me and talk silly at me and pet me, which is very nice. And they said that now they know what food I need, I can find a home! I'm super excited about that!

So if you know of anyone who wants a nice cat like me - very friendly and sweet and I play like a kitten! - can you please send them my way? Tell them to ask for Meoka - that's me!

Thank you!

Meoka has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV/FIV.. If you would like to adopt this cat, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4.
