Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fawn came from a home in Boston that had dozens of dogs. She is quite skittish and scared but crawled into our manager's lap her second day, so we think she will come around. She is very shy and will need a family dedicated to making sure she has many experiences that help to build her confidence. She seems unfamiliar with leash walking, so her ideal home will have a fenced in yard to provide her with a safe way to go outside while she learns more about how fun it is to go for walks. 8/3 Update. Fawn has done well her last 2 days going for walks when she is offered deli turkey as an incentive. She wags her tail when she hears the cellophane wrapper!
We will post more as we get to know more about her. Other than knowing she lived with many dogs we don't know anything about her background. She is too skittish to be a suitable pet for a home with kids ages 12 and under.
We give priority to people that fill out our adoption application, so if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, that is the first step. E-mail inquiries about a dog are not considered an application.

If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Our dog adoption fee for dogs 5 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is given age-appropriate vaccines, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.

All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
