My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** AVAILABLE TO ADOPT ***
Meet Spartacus. Spartacus came to us as a stray. He was severely emaciated and required immediate veterinary attention. Spartacus is thriving now, he has gotten the thumbs up to get his vetting up to date. He has always had the Boxer Spirit in his eyes... despite his past, and Spartacus looks towards the future and finding his forever family that will love him and keep him safe! We are looking at an available to adopt date of September 29th! He has come so far... so quick!

Spartacus is estimated to be between 3-5 yrs old, though he has the energy of a pup! The ideal home for Spartacus would be one with another dog that has his level of energy, but with a dog that will also be his best bud. He has gotten along with all dogs he has met, all people he has met.... but he cannot go to a home with any kitties, though he is currently co-existing with a kitty... it is with many safeguards in place and to be fair to the cat… it would be no life to live in hiding. Spartacus is a very playful pup, he takes boxing to a new level and he has the Quarterback Blitz down!!! That said, a home with older children would be best. He has made great improvements walking on the leash, but still pulls so we practice this daily. He can be crated, but will not stop barking if left alone. He is not destructive in the crate and is perfectly fine in it if you are there, but if he is left alone he will bark non-stop until you return (via video monitor). We are continuing to work on his crating, so that he knows it is a safe place. That said, he has proven himself to be responsible and trustworthy for short periods of time being left in a gated off room with his foster brothers.

Pre-Approved adopters can contact our director if you our interested in Spartacus or if you or someone you know have fallen head over heels for this sweetheart you can begin the adoption process by completing our app at: https://www.boxerhaven.org/requirements-adoption-application
