Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jenna Grandma Beagle or "GB" for short was rescued in late February as she was staggering down a country road. She had a frightening, deep, non-stop cough. She was filthy and infested with fleas and her belly was an infected, dripping, mass of mammary tumors.
Her case initially seemed hopeless - however, with kindness and persistent care she has made amazing progress! She had surgery about a month ago to remove what was left of her tumors and she has recovered beautifully.
It's still true that love and kindness and empathy change the world. GB is a living example of this. ❤️
GB is probably about 10 years old. She loves to sleep on the back porch in the sunshine. She still chases squirrels like any self-respecting Beagle. She's always up for a Netflix binge and has outstanding cuddling skills. She loves ear scratches and belly rubs. She loves to hear sweet words of praise and rewards all compliment givers with soulful gazes from her beautiful eyes.
GB sleeps overnight in a dog bed without any accidents. However, it seems likely she has been an outside dog her entire life. So, prospective parents need to be patient with her potty training. She is also on thyroid medication and likely will be the rest of her life. This is not an expensive prescription (about $15/month) but something to consider.
She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and current on her heartworm & flea preventative. She's eating normal, dry dog kibble with a splash of coconut oil or olive oil. She also takes glucosamine for dogs - an easy OTC supplement that really helps with arthritis.
Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog...could that person be you?
