Facts about Betty

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray, Blue Or Silver Tabby
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Betty is the smallest of 5 of Rapunzel's kittens. They were born 5/4/17; and are full of fun and adventure! There are 3 siblings left (Pascal, Flynn, Arianna,) who would also love to be adopted with their litter mate. Two kittens are always better than one, and Betty may be smaller than her siblings, but she's mighty! She is the one under her brother Pascal, as they are wrestling! She gives it right back, not to worry.

Their mother was tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and each has been wormed, treated for fleas and received their first kitten vaccinations. The remaining series, 1 year rabies, and spay/neuter is covered under our comprehensive kitten adoption plan, and are all age appropriate. All plan services are through our local veterinarian. All our kittens eat Pro Plan Kitten Focus dry kitten food.

We do require a verifiable veterinarian reference prior to scheduling an adoption appointment. We do contact the reference to make sure we are placing our kitties in loving, responsible new homes. We also require a cat carrier be brought to the adoption appointment for secure transport home.

Betty's adoption fee is $125.

About The Cat House - Feline Sanctuary, Inc.

About Our Shelter...

There are people in this world who love all different kinds of animals for different reasons. We love them all and then we are passionate about others. We are passionate about cats. There are next to no shelters in Ashland Ohio that take in cats and the population is out of control. So instead of sitting around and saying "someone should do something, we decided to do something" and built a sanctuary in 2005. We originally housed 60 homeless/abandoned cats then expanded in 2008 to house 90. At one point we had 110, added another apartment and got the numbers back down to 90. As the director, I supplement the money we need and do not receive in donation to keep us running. It is critical for us to receive outside financial support. We are a 501(c)(3) charity so any donations may be tax deductable. Make a difference in a life, donate today! 100% of your donation goes to the care of our cats, we have NO paid staff. Only a dedicated group of volunteers, myself included who consider this our God given talent and we serve gladly.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Call us at 419-289-3658 to schedule an appointment. Because our cats are not used to cages, they do not travel to adoption events. Caged cats become scared when people poke at them through the bars, how would you like that, so we want you to come and see them in their natural environment. We try to accommodate any timeframe within reason. Remember, many are in foster care so we need to arrange with the foster family for you to visit at their home.

Visit or (OH591) to see some of our cats today! We are also on facebook!

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary between adults and kittens. Our kittens come with an age appropriate program (provided through certificate) for our veterinarian only. We make sure all our cats receive a health screening, tested for feline aids and feline leukemia when appropriate ages, spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated for rabies (1yr), distemper and leukemia. We also worm and flea treat all of our cats, again all as age appropriate. We also treat any cat/kitten that comes to our sanctuary for any illnesses present, or that develop while in our care.

We require an appointment for adopting, as well as a verifiable veterinarian reference, which we require prior to scheduling an actual adoption visit. We contact your veterinarian reference to insure our cats/kittens are being placed in responsible, loving homes. Additionally, we require a cat carrier be brought to the adoption appointment for transport home. No laundry baskets, boxes, lap holding, is acceptable. No exceptions.

We have a private shelter address other than our mailing address which is featured on this site. Many of our cats are in foster care, so appropriate appointments need to be made with proper foster families. Our cats are featured on our website as well as and facebook.
