Meet Needle. She and her siblings were rescued from a warehouse used for medical supplies for FEMA at around 2 months of age. She no doubt had a rough start at life.

Needle and her siblings initially did not trust humans. Their momma had taught them to be weary of strangers and to protect themselves from the unknown. Since their rescue they have become love muffins and they crave human attention and affection.

They are slow to new surroundings and folks, but once they trust you, they will love you back.

Needle is the runt of the litter. She has a tiny smooshy like face too, that makes her expressions that much cuter. She enjoys running around with play mice in her mouth. She loves to climb and loves to be high. She seems to have a curiosity for water and puts her toys in the water bowl. Just like most kittens, she demands attention. With any kitten though, we cannot guarantee a personality. Kittens do not fully develop their true and set in stone personalities until about 12 months of age.

She is high activity and is very curious. She loves all toys, especially little catnip mice.

With certain kitten adoptions through MMAR, we mandate homes either already have a cat or adopt 2 kittens simultaneously to further enrich their personality development. This insures continued positive personality growth and social behavior for the baby. This particular litter of kittens, having originated from a feral mother, will be an absolute mandate on any adoption application to have the above requirement.

We are also asking no children under the age of 10 to be present in the home. This is a specific request for this litter- pertaining to Kerlix, Gauze, Ivy, and Needle. Required because of their shy personalities.

*All adoptable animals have been thoroughly evaluated by a licensed veterinarian, received all core vaccinations, microchip identification, monthly flea & tick preventatives, deworming, and have been spayed/neutered. All adoptions include 30 days of Pet Health Insurance at no additional charge.

About Mutts & Mayhem

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Mission is to provide a coordinated effort in the response, search, rescue and recovery phases for natural disasters, significant public emergencies and major vehicle collisions involving animals in North Texas. We increase animal discovery and survival by developing and activating community-based local search teams, providing immediate lifesaving treatment and transport of injured animals and providing training and continuing education for response team volunteers.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are happy to schedule a "Meet & Greet" and/or an Adoption for one or more of our animals by appointment. We hold public adoption events periodically where you may meet our animals on the spot. These event dates and times are posted on the home page of our website.

Our Adoption Process...

UPDATED March 2015

Feline Adoption Fees

$80 <5 years
$50 >5 years

Canine Adoption Fees
$300 <1 year
$250 <3 years
$200 <5 years
$100 >5 years

Prior to an adoption, all of our animals will have received a thorough Veterinary exam, received treatment needed for any illnesses or injuries they may have incurred prior to their Rescue, they have been spayed or neutered, and they have been vaccinated and have been given Microchip IDs!

Our Adoption Fees range depending on the animal. Careful consideration is taken when determining this fee. We consider the animals’ previous medical expenses, length of time in our care, adopt-ability factors, future needs, etc. Each animals adoption’ fee will be listed within his/her profile information.

We wish that we could simply give our animals to their new adoptive family at zero cost. However, Mutts & Mayhem is a non profit organization who relies solely on individual donations and adoption fees to care for all of our animals on a day to day basis. The cost associated with treating and caring for each animal far outweighs the adoption fee that you pay for that animal through your adoption. Please keep all of this in mind if it seems to you that the adoption fee listed may be too high for that animal.

To be considered for adoption you need to:

•Be at least 18 years old.
•Have knowledge and consent of all adults living in your household
•Have a valid government-issued photo ID
•Have landlords consent to bring an animal onto the property (if applicable)
•Possess zero criminal convictions for Animal Cruelty, Animal Abuse, Family/Domestic Violence or Felony Violent Crimes.
•Understand that Mutts & Mayhem reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any animal to any person.

Through the adoption process, we will ask you to complete an adoption application and we will process it as promptly as possible. For dog adoptions, we do require a home visit prior to the final approval of an adoption application. After your adoption application has been approved, we will complete an adoption agreement with you that is signed by all parties.

After your adoption, if "anything" happens where you can no longer keep or care for the pet that you adopted from us, we will happily accept that animal back into our Rescue, no questions asked.
