Stewie is approx. 1 1/2 yr old per Dr. Carson. He is neutered, heartworm tested, on preventive as well as fully vaccinated! Stewie is also crate trained and completely housebroken. He adores children and is very good with cats. He also gets along with other dogs. At night he loves to sleep in the bed, under the covers by your feet...this is not a requirement for adoption. LOL Stewie weighs 27 pounds and is a Doxie/Bassett hound mix. He walks well on a leash and would love to walk into your heart!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stewie, a Waukesha Dachshund/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Basset Hound for sale in Waukesha, or seeking a Dachshund/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Waukesha.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waukesha already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waukesha breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Basset Hound breeders who help with Dachshund/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waukesha paves the way for another one to be saved.
