Please join us in welcoming Tee to the Redemption Family! This stunning dark-masked beauty is a 3 year old female German Shepherd. Tee came to the rescue via an owner surrender to one of our local shelters. Her owner dumped her there, heartworm positive, covered in hot spots, after her last litter of puppies didn't make it. Classic backyard breeder, I guess in his mind she wasn't worth the low-cost monthly heartworm preventative since she couldn't make him money. Despite being kept outside most of her life with little human interaction, Tee is housebroken and very affectionate. She is working on her basic commands and leash skills. Having never had frequent walks or a chance to explore, she does pull a bit to get to a new smell. But I can't really blame her, the world is a huge new place full of wonderful things to sniff and check out. Tee is current on vaccines and flea/tick preventative, micro-chipped and spayed. Tee has begun her heartworm treatment already. She has been on heartgard for 30 days now to start killing any little buggers floating in her bloodstream. This is a 90 day process our vet requires as it increases her overall chance at a successful outcome. In mid-August, she will begin her first of three arsenic-based injections over a 60 day period that will kill the bigger blokes who have attached to her heart. Tee would love to be in a quiet, low-key foster home during treatment or even a foster to adopt home. We will provide all the medical care, food and even a 4' wide by 4' long by 5' tall kennel for Tee to relax in (inside of course) during her treatment time at her foster home. (Kennel must be returned when treatment is complete this Fall.) Tee will need to go on a leash outside at all times during the injection period. Any running, rough-housing, or wild shenanigans could cause damage to Tee's heart while she is in treatment. If you have a quiet and serene home located within 45 minutes of the Valparaiso (IN) area and want to help out a very a wonderful dog who deserves a way better second half, please fill out a foster application today at under the online forms tab.

About Our Rescue Group...

Redemption German Shepherd Rescue is foster-based 501c3 rescue headquartered in Northwest Indiana. Our focus is on senior and adult German Shepherds.

Our mission is to give homeless and discarded German Shepherds a safe and loving environment while they recover with needed love, medical treatments and/or training while being rehabilitated to the point where they can be placed in furever homes.

We will never settle for second best – not in our board members, volunteers, fosters or adopters. Our commitment to the highest quality of care for our dogs will never be ignored. Our love and passion for the German Shepherd dog compels us to place the dog’s well-being first and foremost. We will care for each dog as if it were a member of our family.

We understand that there are a lot of unwanted dogs and we cannot save them all. But we will strive to make a difference in the lives that we do save!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are a foster based rescue, therefore all of our pets reside in foster homes. Available pets may be seen at events or by appointment with an approved application.

Our Adoption Process...

You must fill out an application before you are eligible to meet any RGSR dogs. The application is the first step to every successful adoption! Adoption donation requests start at $250.00 for senior dogs and go up from there. All dogs are temperament tested, evaluated, up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
