In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Daisy came into rescue as an owner surrender. Her owner had acquired her as a stray, and only had her a short time, so much of her history is unknown. Her age is estimated to be 1-2 years old and we think she is a Yorkie/Poodle/Shih Tzu mix. She has boundless energy, loves to play, and is very generous with her kisses once she gets to know you. Her favorite game is tug-o-war. If you let go of the toy on your end, she will bring it back to your hand. She is a real delight and has a great personality. She is working diligently on her housetraining and goes to the door when she has to go outside to do her business. The trick is catching her at the door, so her foster parents just take her out frequently and regularly, which is working well. Daisy sleeps in bed with her foster parents at night, and snoozes contentedly until they wake up. She wants to play with their small dogs, although they’re not as enthusiastic about it as she is. So it would be wonderful if she could be in a home with another small playful dog with whom she could play. Daisy loves men, and bonded very quickly to the males in her foster family. But she also does well with women; she just has to gain their trust first. It is unknown how she will be around children, but older respectful children would probably be okay. The ideal home for this little girl will be an active home where her parents can take her on long, brisk walks, play lots of dog games with her, and keep up with her puppy playfulness. A fenced yard is a MUST – she loves to race around like the wind and needs an outlet for her energy in order to be happy, and for her owners to be happy too.

Daisy is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $420.00 plus $30.56 sales tax for a total of $450.56. Her foster parents would like her adopters to live within 75 miles of the Twin Cities and hope they will attend the Shih Tzu Reunion held each year in September.

To meet Daisy, please complete an adoption application. Or you can also see her and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the first Saturday of every month.
