Sweet Chloe is FINALLY adoption ready. Chloe came to us several months back after being surrendered to us when her family could no longer care for her properly. Thanks to wonderful vet care and TLC from her AMAZING foster mommies and their donations Chloe is doing awesome. When Chloe came into our care she was 32 lbs. Her foster mom quickly noticed lots of urinating and suspected diabetes which was later confirmed by our vet. Chloe was also experiencing horrible dry eye and issues with her eyes from the diabetes to the point we didn't know if they could be saved. Fast forward all these months and many vet visit later, Chloe is down to 16 lbs, her diabetes is under control with 2 insulin injections daily and her urinating has been regulated. Her eyes are no longer blood shot and painful and are controlled with eye drops. Chloe does have very limited vision but she can see shapes and shadows we believe. We are thrilled with Chloe's progress and she's ready to find a family to call her own. Chloe loves going to work with her foster mom. She is house trained and will let you know when she needs to potty. Chloe will tolerate a crate but it's not her favorite thing. She is great with dogs of all sizes and cats. She's fine with children but due to her eye sight being limited we would be extra careful with toddlers. She loves to ride in a the car and will sit in the seat like a champ. Chloe is truly a wonderful dog with a lot of love to give. Chloe is 8 years old, utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed!

All dogs have a $150 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter!

About Wags and Whiskers

About Our Rescue Group...

Wags and Whiskers is a FOSTER based small rescue along the Gulf Coast. We take in dogs from local shelters, strays and from individuals who are in need of help. We can only take in dogs that we have a foster space available for and that space is limited due to the shear number of unwanted dogs in our area. Our primary veterinarian is Dr. David Martin at Parkway Animal Hospital. He oversees all medical treatment. All dogs are current on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested if they are over 6 months of age and are altered before adoption. PARKWAY ANIMAL HOSPITAL DOES NOT HOUSE OUR DOGS ONLY PROVIDE MEDICAL TREATMENT! We have an adoption process that consist of an online application that can be emailed to you, reference check, meet and greet and home visit. Adoptions will not be finalized until all procedures listed have been completed. We do not adopt on a first come first serve basis but to the best home for that particular animal when there are multiple applicants. If you are interested in more more information please email

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are in foster homes, but we are very easy and flexible to set an appointment up with to meet one of our animals once the adoption application is approved. We also participate regularly at adoption events with other local rescues.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions are subject to adoption application, reference checks and home visit/meet and greet with the potential adopters.
