About Friends of Sochi Dogs

About Our Rescue Group...

Sochi Dogs was born during the Winter 2014 Olympic Games when we learned about the tremendous stray dog crisis in Sochi, Russia. Olympic athletes were able to save a few dogs during the Olympics but thousands more are still on the streets, and after the media left the problem did not get resolved, only forgotten. The city does not have humane means to deal with the overpopulation so instead, it employs exterminators to poison dogs.

At Sochi Dogs we save as many street dogs as we possibly can. We run a no-kill shelter, facilitate adoptions around the globe, educate the community about spaying/neutering, and helps curb the stray dog population through community sterilization program.

We have found homes for more than 200 dogs, which now reside all over the globe including New Jersey, New York, Texas, Maryland, Washington, Michigan, Maine, Virginia, Delaware, California, Canada, Poland, Germany, and Scotland.

Sochi Dogs is always looking for foster homes, so if you have a little extra room please send us an email! info@sochidogs.org

Our Adoption Process...

Sochi Dogs is a non-profit animal rescue that works closely with adopters to help them find the perfect addition to their families. All of our dogs are vetted, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped.

Dog ownership is a long-term commitment so we take our adopters’ needs very seriously. We work on a foster to adopt basis, which allows adopters to get to know their new dog in a relaxed family setting.

For us, the most important things are finding the right family for the right dog. As long as it’s a good match we’re happy to adopt a dog out of state. Our dogs have found homes in 16 states and 5 provinces!

Fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website (http://www.sochidogs.org/adoption-inquiry/) and one of our volunteers will give you a call to help match you with your perfect k-9 companion!

We look forward to getting to know you!
