My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.

Selma was rescued by a good samaritan - she was found as a stray with a severe ear infection (from a foxtail that was stuck in her ear), fleas, ticks and she was underweight. Selma has had the fox tail removed and after completing her antibiotics, has also kicked the ear infection. Selma is deaf, our vet believes that is how she was born deaf as her ear infection was in one ear only and there is no signs of damage to the other ear. She cannot hear a thing but that does not stop her from being your a happy-go-lucky, affectionate, playful puppy. And boy is she playful! She would do best in a home with another dog (or one of her foster littermates) who just loves to play as much as she does. Selma is almost 4 months old and has been added to a "foster litter" with Tito, Vivianna and Bacardi.

If you are interested in meeting this dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED FOR ADOPTION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent.

Adoption fees are tax deductible and cover the cost of the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, 4 sets of distemper/parvo vaccines, microchip, microchip registration, fecal testing and deworming.

Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/
