12/28/08 Sunshine has found her forever home - what a lucky pup!
11/24/08 Here's an update from Sunshine's foster mom:
"All is well, she is doing much better and not many accidents. She also took food off the counters so will need training about how to behave in the kitchen.Whoever adopts her will have to take the time to keep working on training her to live inside.
These are her GOOD qualities: she is very gentle and loving, looks like she will attach quickly to someone. She is a nice dog with a lot of love to give. She comes when she is called and knows how to sit and shake. She also stands on her back legs when she is anticipating food or a treat which is very cute, almost like a circus dog.
Once concern would be with "little" kids who do not know how to give dogs their space. So maybe not so good to be with children under 7 or 8.
She barks and will chase a cat, but not sure if she wants to hurt them?
I have still been giving her a little bit of the canned food mixed with dry as she needs to put on some weight and seems to really like the wet food. She has put on some weight as her back bone is not sticking out so much, but she stills needs to be fattened up a bit!
Right now she is in the sunroom where we have a woodstove and couch, she likes to sleep in there b/c it is warm, she is a southern dog not used to this weather"
11/18/08 Sunshine is a really great little girl at about 29 pounds and is very playful and sweet. She likes to chase the cats in her foster home so probably would be best with no cats or very dog savy cats. She loves people and other dogs and would be great for older couple or family with older children. She is beautiful grey with white feet and very petite and pretty.
11/10/08 Can youplease give this sweet dog a temporary home? Sunshine is a unique mix of Border Collie and Australian Shepherd. She is three years old and weighs about 35 pounds. Sunshine loves to go for walks and enjoys running and playing in the shelter yard. She was very shy at first, but is so happy and confident after we spent plenty of quality time holding and cuddling her. She will roll over on her back for belly rubs and is one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs I have ever seen. Sunshine does fine with people of all ages and is good with other dogs.
