My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Clari – female, spayed, vaccinated to date incl. Rabies, microchipped, ~40lbs, 7 months, Border Collie.

Clari’s owner is working many long hours and does not have the time to spend exercising and training an active breed like Clari so she has decided to place Clari up for adoption.

Clari is not the typical black and white Border Collie; she is what’s known as a red and white Border Collie because her coat is a deep chocolate (red) color with white. Clari is about 40lbs and will likely grow to be about 45lbs or so. Clari is well socialized with people and other dogs, we prefer a home with no small children because Clari has a tendency to do what she was born to do and she will try to “herd” and round up whatever is available and we do not want her accidentally injuring a child, she is okay with cats but may bark at them so a home with no felines is probably more suitable. Clari will make a fabulous dog for someone who is interested in obedience trials, agility, fly ball or even someone who wants to give herding trials a try; she would also be a great hiking, jogging or roller blade companion. Clari is crate trained and house trained; she has good house manners, as long as she has had a run each day Clari tends to be calm and quiet in the house. She is used to being crated at night and when left alone and should probably continue to be crated when alone for a few more months. Clari needs to have at least one good long one hour run/walk every single day. She does well off leash once bonded and is very good at the dog parks; she could easily be exercised off leash at the dog park or an open park chasing a ball or Frisbee. This girl has been groomed regularly and attended a few training classes so she knows the basics, she has also been to doggy day care regularly. Clari would be a great as a second dog or on her own. Clari is so eager to learn, please and work, she really needs an owner who is keen on the Border Collie breed, someone who will keep her mind and body busy. Clari is such an amazing, social, friendly and intelligent dog, she really deserves a great home that will nurture and love her Border Collie energy and nature so that she can grow and mature in to a phenomenal family companion.
