Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tested negative for FIV and FeLV, DOB June 23, 2014.
Colby is such a well behaved love bug. If you find the perfect spot between his ears for a rub he just melts into purrs!
He curls up looking out the window or loves to find a spot just above all the action going on below to observe! He is still learning that the kitchen counter is not the ideal "high spot" to do his observing and only now occasionally tries to hop up. This fellow would love to be spoiled with a cat window perch or a cat tree with different levels for him to observe and explore!
Colby hasn't shown a great deal of interest in toys, but each day he surprises his foster family by coming out of his shell more and more!
He comes running over for his scoop of canned meat daily. He nibbles on his dry kibble throughout the day moderately and is happy to share and leave leftovers. He will let you know he loves you by meowing and rubbing up against your leg. He always uses his litter box even when stressed or shy (he will make a run for it from "safety" even if required).
Colby lives with other cats, but inadvertently tends to get picked on by male cats - in particular those who are older than him. He gets along well with his younger feline friends and females. He seems to be a silent instigator towards those males! He also is fostered with two large dogs and couldn't care less about their existence. He has never attempted to play with them, but he also has never shown any signs of aggression or dislike toward them!
Colby over time could learn to live with older children, but he is on the shy side so someone who understands his transition period into their home with children will be very slow and require a lot of patience is a must. Colby will swat or nip when he feels threatened initially and his space should be respected while he is learning to trust!
Colby was found as a stray before being welcomed into his TCR foster family. He had a large wound to his neck that has healed nicely! He loves being safe inside, with yummy food and caring humans. His foster family shares: "Colby is a lovely boy and once he trust you loves to cuddle, be pet, shows his affection by rubbing up against your leg and softly meowing!"
