My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What a stunner we have in this boy, this is HUNTER a Handsome Black Lab/ Mix He is approx 60lb, he is 3yrs old, and has beautiful features he is blessed with A Beautiful black shiny coat and soulful eyes that just melt your heart,
Hunters Story )))) Hunter was placed in a local high kill shelter for what reason it is unclear What is clear is this boy has not had a good life it is apparent no one ever bothered to spend any time with this sweet boy, Hunter was Heartworm positive and very thin you could see his ribs and hip bones when we took him. The shelter was due to euthanize him they dont treat heart worm cases. We pulled Hunter from the shelter and brought him to our base where all our dogs live in a house and roam free, Hunter is very is a sweet boy and loved to be cuddled something he does not appear to have had before, It was a bit of a culture shock for Hunter he did not appear to be socialized and struggled a little with the larger males, Hunter spent 6 weeks here and did fine until another male arrived who was as needy as Hunter unfortunately he was also dominant, We had an incident with the other boy and we moved him into boarding, Unfortunately this unnerved Hunter and he became afraid of the other males he had lived with for the past 2 months, Hunter had to have his heartworm treatment and we could not have him stressed, We tried finding a calm foster home for him but no one stepped up so we had to place Hunter in vet boarding, Hunter has finished his treatment and is still in boarding it is too much for him at our base, Hunter has had the best treatment and he is up to weight, It breaks my heart to see him in boarding it is not the right environment for any dog, Hunter is ready to leave us he needs a quieter home and someone that has time to invest in him. You will have to work a little with Hunter but in the right home this boy will excel. Hunter loves to run and chase squirrels he was pure joy to watch when he was here at base his name is so fitting, He is so focused and could put the others to shame. So a fenced in yard where Hunter can run is essential, No Cats for Hunter. All this boy needs is his person someone that can show him love and direction, He is super loving and will rest his head on your lap he would make a great companion as an only dog. Hunter loves to go for rides and he is excellent in the car, He can be a little wary of new people but he warms up quickly and will attach himself to you, He dosent know many commands I was working on them before he had to
leave, He dosent know toys I feel he has never been taken care of as a puppy,
We are now searching for a wonderful forever home for Hunter. A home that will give him the stability love and security he needs We are looking for a Family for Hunter someone that understands and has patience that is important We are looking for a family that dosent crate and preferably someone that is home most of the day we want someone that has time to invest in Hunter. He is happiest around his human that will give him the attention he deserves Hunter is not high maintenance his needs are minimal ,Its difficult to find anything negative to say about him apart from the above with his fearfulness of larger males he is just a sweetheart. Hunter is neutered, current on all vaccinations. Heartworm Negative, Micro chipped and is current on Monthly prevention We are looking to find Hunter a wonderful forever home where he can have stability and security in his life. We are looking for a forever home that will cherish him and love him as much as we do, A family that is really stable and can give him that forever home that means forever we don't ever want to see this boy back in a shelter. A family that is relatively calm and have a quieter lifestyle would be perfect he will excel with the right interaction. A home with a fenced in yard or acreage pool lanai where he can run and play and relax is essential we do not place our Dogs in Apartments condos or Town homes. Hunter would make a wonderful addition for an older family. He is a little fearful so the chaos of young children is not ideal. To adopt Hunter it is a long term commitment a commitment that will bring you great joy Could you be the one to open up your heart and home, and make Hunters`s life complete if so you will be rewarded with a wonderful , loyal faithful friend that will bring you endless hours of pleasure.
