Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1/3/08 Winkie went to her forever home. What a lucky pup!
12/27/08 Winkie is doing fabulously in her foster home and is available for adoption. Her foster mom tells us, "Miss Winkie is doing great! She is learning to play and to like playing in the snow. She loves having her belly rubbed and eating the icicles off the trees. She loves being patted and any attention you give her. She will also let you know if she feels you are ignoring her! She is a sweetheart. She has learned to sit and give paw. She will sit to have her leash put on. She LOVES to sniff!!! She sniffs everything - inside and out!! She is on a schedule of sorts for when she has breakfast, lunch, and dinner -- and when she takes her naps! I do have some updated pictures - Santa Claus knew she had been a good girl -- so he brought her some toys -- she did not get any coal!" Thank you, Mary and family, for giving her a second chance at life!
12/15/08 Winkie is smaller and more beautiful than her pictures show. She was a little shy at the transport stop but was happy to get in a warm car to snuggle. She was good with the other dogs there and very sweet with the humans. Stay tuned for more info from her foster family as they get to know her.
11/21/08: Winkie is such a beautiful young puppy around 3-4 months old. When she came in, she was pretty beat up from some other dog (she had cuts and scratches all over her). She wouldn't even open her eyes for 2-3 days. The vet said it was stress related. No one knows what happened to her or where she came from. This baby girl is so scared at the shelter. During pictures, she would just freeze. She desperately needs a foster home until we can find her a wonderful permanent home.
All our dogs are in partner shelters in the South unless otherwise marked in Maine or in New England.
