Today's my big day. I'm ready to start the search for my forever home. My name is Charlie. I have been in care for quite some time working through a few of my struggles. I have come a long way but now I'm ready to find someone prepared to go the rest of the distance with me. I am kennel trained and fully house trained. I am a very clever and energetic dog so I will need someone prepared to give me all the exercise and mental simulation I can handle. I have anxiety and am currently taking medication to increase my learning retention, and decrease my anxiety. I am working with a positive, science based trainer and will be required to continue to do so once I am adopted. I am fearful of children, and in the past, I have behaved aggressively towards them so I am not suitable for a home with young children. I can be cautious of men but will warm up quickly if I can introduce myself in my own time, and of course if they have treats. I like most dogs when I have met them off my leash, however on-leash I am reactive. I am working on greeting dogs on leash in a calm manner as this seems to be my biggest challenge at the moment. I have been taught all my basic manners and even some tricks. I'm looking for a family that is patient and excited to continue to train with me. I'll need a little understanding and a lot of love.
