Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING ONLY, IF INTERESTED, PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW.
Baron is a 1-1/2 yr old male from work line GSD. He was bought from a breeder and has his AKC papers. Baron was sold to an elderly couple who knew nothing about working line GSD's. He was the only dog, never was walked or exercised. Baron being so young had learned to take the lead position. Its as if you asked a 7 years old child to be the lead. Its asking for chaos.
He nipped at his owner's grandchild as he was resource guarding. They scheduled to euthanize him. His neighbors got a hold of us and we were able to find a wonderful volunteer that drove him from Indiana to Los Angeles.
In Los Angeles he was placed inKk9 training for a month and lived at the training ranch. Now he knows commands in German and does them very well. He is a young dog and very energetic. He needs to be exercised daily. He gets along fine with small dogs. We prefer he was placed in a home with no small children. He needs a dog savvy owner who is willing to have him part of the family, not to be left out as an outside dog.
The potential adopters need to have experience with large dogs and preferably with German Shepherds. This dog is very much like a Belgian Malinois, intelligent, fast and active, therefore needs the right kind of ownership. Baron is not a lap dog and may never be able to go to dog parks. He needs to be properly introduced to people and other dogs and does it with no reactivity when done right. His adopters would need to learn commands and spend a bit of time with his trainer so both sides can communicate with each other.
