My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peony, a beautiful 8 year old Pomeranian, came to Friendship as part of a humane surrender. She was a puppy mill dog taken to a vet to be euthanized as she was no longer of use to the breeder. Having never lived in a home before, Peony's been with her foster family for several weeks now and she has come such a long way from her state of complete withdrawal, fear and mistrust of humans on her arrival at FAPL. Despite her sad past, she's starting to trust people and blossom into a sweet, happy girl who now seeks out affection and is bonding to her people and the other dogs. She still needs time and patience as she is very shy and startles easily when handled. So a slow and gentle hand plus a halter for walking rather than leading from the collar. A retired couple or a home without young children but only older teens, would be best.
If you are interested in adopting this girl, please contact her foster mom by email at gina.mckaylodge@gmail.com for more information and to schedule an appointment.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
