My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

REESE – AKA The Big Easy: 11 year old neutered chocolate male Lab 82 lbs

What a beautiful boy!

The Ukiah shelter contacted GGLRR as they did not want him to end his life in a shelter; they wanted to see if we could take him into our program. His family fell on hard times and became homeless and it was very hard for them to make the decision to surrender him to the shelter after owning him for 11 years. They reached out to family and friend but they found no options for Reese. (That is why GGLRR exists to help dogs like Reese find his next home.)

Reese was a loved pet and was an inside dog and part of the family. He has been around a variety of people – small and large with no issues. He gets along with all dogs and he lived in the home with another dog. We are not sure about cats but he seems to be a dog that could care less about cats. He is very easy when you give him treats and he is fine when you take his food bowl away. He rides very well in the car, likes to trot after the ball and loves to swim. He is housetrained, has leash manners, loves to be brushed and goes for a nice walk and then will settle in for the day.
Notes from the foster: Reese is a very sweet boy! He’s quiet and well behaved and has settled in quickly. He’s very affectionate and just wants to be around people. We are giving him a lot of attention and he is just loving it! He has a great appetite and is food motivated; loves his treats. He pulls a little on leash but we are working on it; he is fine when he encounters other people and dogs and is a real sweetheart!

Medical:

Reese has all his shots, he is heartworm negative, GGLRR will microchip him, he has had a well check and he had a mass removed from his front leg.

He is located in Danville.

If you are interested in meeting this wonderful boy please email Rescue Rep Liz at liz@jobshopsf.com or call 415-613-6374.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
