Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there. I've been in my foster home for a few months now and I should probably tell you about my progress. See, I've been too busy finally having fun being a beagle lately to worry about this whole getting adopted thing, but I think it's time that I find a family of my very own. Things didn't start out so easy for me though. I was one of 1200 doggies rescued from the largest puppy mill in Wisconsin. I was one of the moms there, but thankfully my puppy-making days are over with. It took me awhile to get comfortable with living in a real house but now I think it's the best!
My favorite things still include lounging on the couch or on my foster parents' bed. I also like playing with the two resident beagles here, but I really like snuggling with them the most. I like getting petted a lot too and I crave attention. If the humans here stop petting me, I like to take my paw and tap them with it to remind them that I am still available for an ear rub or a pat on the head. One of my other favorite things is mealtimes. I aroo and dance like nobody's business and sometimes I get pretty demanding too for the dessert kong we get after dinner. I am a beagle, I do like my treats, you know.
There is one other important thing you should know about me. Even though I'm a younger girl, I have arthritis in my right hip. The vets that have seen me are not sure if it is a result of an injury I had that healed wrong or if I was just born with a bad hip. I have been taking some medication for this about once every week and a half and I am doing a lot better. I am not as active as most beagles my age, but I do like to play and run around a bit every day. I will need a family that can give me my medication as needed to help with my condition and keep an eye on it as I age.
Please let BREW know if you think you have a soft spot on your couch for me!
