Huey's Story...
Huey is a very cute 8 to 10 month old Boxer puppy looking for his forever family. Huey was taken in by a shelter as a stray and no one came to claim him. Huey is small, about 38 lbs and won't be a large Boxer. He has all the adorable Boxer characteristics including the adorable underbite we all love! He is working on house and crate training and doing super well in his foster home with other dogs and cats. We will require an obedience class for Huey and his new owner. If you'd like to love this young pup, please apply to adopt him! Huey's adoption fee is $140. Please note that MSBR is located in Charleston, WV. We adopt only to residents of West Virginia. You may complete an application to adopt on-line at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huey, a Charleston Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
