My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gretchen is an adorable 4 year old beagle who was released to our Lab to Leash Division after helping out in a veterinary program training new vets, vet techs, animal care workers, etc. Gretchen hasn't met a person she doesn't like.
She excitedly greets new people and her tail goes a million a minute! She loves to be pet, held, and given attention. She can be submissive at times, so will also need a patient adopter.

Although Gretchen generally does well with other beagles, she has occasional issues guarding her sleeping area (around other dogs, not people) so the personality of the other dog(s) in a home is important. Actually, if you are looking for a pair, Gretchen and her pal Penny (currently available through BRL and on our listing) are great together and have known each other most of their lives! *They are not bonded, however, and both would do OK as only dogs. Gretchen actually LOVES to play with kittens. We are not sure why!

Gretchen is crate trained, although she is not a fan of being crated when left alone. She will need continued work on her housetraining, but has the basic idea and is making progress. A fence in yard would be best for her since that is what she is used to. (We are not sure if she will void will on lead.) She is about as vocal as a typical beagle and is just looking for a loving home.
