Here's what the humans have to say about me:
GOLDIE is a 6-year-old spayed female yellow lab. Goldie weighs 49 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Goldie is a very happy and fun dog who likes to play with toys. She likes to be with you and get attention which she rewards with a wagging tail and kisses. She spent a lot of time outside before we took her and really enjoys being inside a lot more. Ideal home would have a family that would give her lots of attention, training and love a fenced yard that she can play in. She needs a fenced yard as she was penned and is not used to being free to wander. Good with other dogs, likes playing with the other LR pups at the kennel. Knows sit, come and down. Pulls on lead some, good with an Easy Walk Harness. Crate trained and may be house trained as she waits to go outside to do his business.Goldie was an owner give up to the shelter with 4 other dogs.

Update: Sweet Goldie is coming out of her shell in her foster home. This adorable girl is a bit of an attention junky. She is an active fun loving pup who gets so excited rolling around with her toys that she rolls right off her foster moms bed with joy. She enjoys playing with other dogs and walks very well with an easy walk harness.
Update: Goldie shows us more and more of her wonderful personality everyday. She loves her walks and does great on the easy walk harness but she may still need a few reminders with her commands. Goldie is finishing up the last few days of her heartworm treatment and chilling with her new foster family. She's enjoying hanging out on the couch with her human foster brother, staying calm and taking naps. Goldie continues to do well meeting and playing with other dogs. Her leash manners are beautiful and she really enjoys her walks and her toys.
Adopters must meet these requirements:
Setting: Rural, Suburban
Dwelling: Single Family Home
Fencing: Needs fence either physical or underground.
Goldie is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update.
This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound.) Adopters must travel to Maryland, or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.
Lab Rescue LRCP has between 40 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia, and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates and locations are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.
