My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gert!

Gert is a 35 pound basset mix, possibly with cocker spaniel? And just as sweet as could be. She is approximately 5 years old and very timid at first.

Gert is a sweet, timid little basset mix still looking for a forever home. She spent most of her life outside with little human interaction and had to learn what it means to be an inside dog. She’s made a lot of progress with housebreaking and does well if taken outside regularly. She goes all night on the couch, and her foster mom leaves potty pads out just in case; so far, only a couple accidents! Gert is also doing better with chewing on things, she knows what ‘no’ means and listens well, although she still occasionally runs off with a shoe or a blanket off her couch! She is extremely bonded to her foster siblings and would do best in a home with other dogs as she is much more confident with another dog or two to follow. Gert does not like to be crated and gets very antsy and howls when she’s put inside. Overall Gert is super sweet and just needs the right family to continue helping her come out of her shell.
