My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Risotto is a 3-year-old spayed female black lab. Risotto weighs 50 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

Risotto is a fun, very playful girl. She is doing great at her foster and enjoys the other dogs. She is affectionate. Risotto is crate trained and appears to be house trained. She will need to continue to work on her manners a bit and will have a training addendum. Risotto is a great rider and does pretty well on leash. She does not need a fence as long as she is exercised properly.

UPDATE: Risotto is a very personable girl who has unfortunately spent the majority of the last three months kenneled in some fashion. Naturally, she has some pent up energy, and could use some manners training as she has never had any. She has been with male dogs almost exclusively, so we aren't sure how she does with female. "Riz" is housebroken and very well behaved in the car and at the vet's office. I have really enjoyed the time I have spent with her.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound.) Adopters must travel to Maryland, or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.

Lab Rescue LRCP has between 40 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia, and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates and locations are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. After you submit an application, you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a home visit is required.
