Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Keaton! Mr. Entertainment! His look, his personality, his funny ways... he'll keep you smiling. And couldn't we all use a little bit more of that? Keaton is very petite. He is also deaf and has some vision impairment, but before you put up your stop sign and start thinking how difficult that will be, let us share the benefits. Deaf dogs are easier to train and learn commands/hand signals quicker than dogs that can hear. Why? Because the #1 way that dogs communicate is through energy and body positioning. Not voice. The result is that they pick things up faster and look to their people for direction more (when trained to do so, of course) because they that's their preferred method of communication. One of the best ways to build a good foundation of trust and respect with your dog is by having them continually look to you for direction. We are building that foundation now with Keaton. Beautiful. Keaton is playful, curious, silly, energetic, and loving. He absolutely loves other dogs and gets right up next to people to offer affection. He is a joy to be around. Keaton does have some working breed DNA in there so exercise and structure are still very much needed. Special needs or not, most dogs, especially working breeds, are not fulfilled by having a big back yard. Keaton needs to get out and do! We have noticed that he is much happier when he is near a live body. We will be looking to place him in a home that either has someone at home during the day or someone that has other dogs he can pal around with. He asks to be around friends and have companionship. This is one silly boy and we are in LOVE with his funny ways! Age 1 year. 30 lbs.
