My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES SAMSON INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!

Samson Loves Women! In fact many of our Shepherds do! Samson is a big bicolor male GS that again was a yard dog left on his own and neglected. Simply put he was not fed well or enough and has come to IDGSR at least 30 lbs. underweight. He's regained back his weight and is so much healthier and happier now and feeling so good. Our German Shepherd orphanage is a place to recover and heal and the dogs know that. They know we are trying hard to find them families and like MATCH.COM we have to match the dogs up to the families or individuals applying for them. Samson needs to go to a quiet home with no over-stimulation so a home with no children is best. NO CATS and no other male dogs in the home. He is actually fine with all dogs but we prefer to do opposite sex adoptions for best harmony and to avoid any future issues that could arise.

Some male German Shepherds when they get into the home become protective. These dogs often take it upon themselves that this is now my home and I need to protect my family. Sometimes they need to be put up, into a crate, the fenced backyard when it's nice weather or in another room while company is visiting. Many people want the look of a German Shepherd and a cupcake personality, but that is not the reality of many male German Shepherds and some females. Samson has this personality. These males need adopters who are more experienced GS owners. They are good boys but need management. IDGSR has no problems in handling these boys. A strong pack leader is needed,

Samson has a good temperament and is easy going, not a nervous nellie in any sense of the word. He's very mindful and listens well. He is a middle aged fella approx. 6 yrs. old. Samson would love to be your companion and friend.

If you would like to adopt this nice boy, please apply by clicking the adoption link at the top of the page
