Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lex #17-425. Arrived 8/9/2017 at 5 years old.
Lex came to us as a stray with his brother Milo #17-426. Both of these boys are high, high, high, energy. Some of that energy we account for being in a kennel here and out of the environment that they were used to. That said, they are still dogs who will require lots of exercise. These boys also will need training. They have been kept as outside dogs and they will need to adjust to life in a house. They have behaviors like jumping on you and wanting to swallow your whole hand when they take a treat. But.... they are happy, social dogs whose tails never stop. Their whole bodies wiggle with happiness. These boys are escape artists, they will need a secure yard and direct supervision outside until their adopter can be certain that they want to stay put at their new home. While we know that they had a history escaping from their previous home, we also know that they were often left unattended. Any escape behaviors we have witnessed in the yards at the shelter have been because they want to get TO people, NOT away. They do know how to go over a fence, and likely are pretty good at digging also. We do not feel that these brother need or even should be adopted together. They have done well being separated here at the shelter and when they are together, they feed off of each other's energy and their unruly sides are much more apparent.
