Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Roary! Roary is a 5 month old Chowski (Chow/Husky) who has had a rough start in life. Roary was rescued from a puppy mill and when he first arrived to us he was not used to being around humans. Roary is very skeptical of EVERYONE (beside other dogs) until he gets to know you. Once he gets to know you he is the biggest sweetheart and loves to cuddle. Roary gets along with ALL dogs. He loves any dog he comes in contact with. He has not been cat tested. Roary has also been around kids very frequently. He is skiddish but very sweet to them and has never shown any aggression.
Currently Roary is working on being house trained. He is doing good about going to the door when he needs to go out. Just like normal Chows and Husky's, Roary will need to be groomed frequently. Roary LOVES car rides. He is used to going on the road with his foster Dad during the day and he loves it. He cuddles up in the seat and doesn't move unless he wants to snuggle, then he moves on over to be closer to you.
Roary does love chew toys and socks so you will have to make sure Roary is a RUNNER and a HIDER. Roary MUST go to a home with a fenced in yard. Roary will also need to be adopted by someone who has the patience and time to work with him on his shyness and someone who can understand his issues and work on them with him. He is an amazing pup. He has just had a rough start to life. Roary can go into a kennel but his foster parents do not kennel him. They have noticed that when kenneling him he starts to regress and it takes him awhile to come to them again. Roary currently sleeps with his foster parents and goes with them everywhere to avoid the kennel.
Roary's adoption fee is $250, and adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad City Area.
For more information about Roary, email debbie@k9kindnessrescue.org or fill out the online adoption application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org.
Roary and K9 Kindness Rescue thank you for considering adoption through rescue for a new family companion!
