Ginger's Story...
Snuffles & Ginger are two beautiful Sharpei doggy friends who have been together for 7 years. Ginger is a female red (yes "gingered colored!" ) brushcoat, 7 years old-& was born August 1, 1996. Snuffles & Ginger lived with their owner until recently when she moved & could not take them with her. The owner had 2 children , ages 2 & an infant, & listed on the owner surrender form that the dogs were good with children. Ginger is the more active and playful of the two. Ginger loves rope toys and knows how to fetch them - she likes to play and is a very sweet girl. This pair is well behaved in the house, has not chewed or scratched up anything at the foster mom's house...they would be great companions for someone or a family who wants to skip the puppy years of housetraining, chewing, etc. & go right into beautiful adult dogs who only want to be in the same room with you!!
**They are being fostered in Austin.**

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginger, a Houston Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
