Facts about Celine

  • Breed: Rat Terrier
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Celine lead a meager, terrible existence in an awful Missouri puppy mill for almost the entire first decade of her life. You can see the wear on her body and her soul. She survived her many cruel hard years as a prisoner, being bred over and over until her body could no longer take the abuse. Fortunately Celine was released from her hell on earth and has come to know what it is like to be loved and cared for, just as she loved and cared for the scores of pups she produced over the years only to have them taken away and trucked off to pet stores to be sold to whoever had enough money to make the purchase. Celine is a humble, quiet girl. She adores being held. You can see the hurt in her eyes melting away and the pure enjoyment she gets from loving human contact. Celine is so grateful for every small thing that a typical dog would take for granted. She loves her big spaces that she shares with the other dogs, and all of the blankets and beds, and for the first time in her life she is healthy and enjoying proper nutrition. Celine would be an easy dog to have. She is unassuming and full of love and gratitude. Celine has one micro-eye (smaller than the other one). It does not bother her or effect her vision.

Celine is a female terrier. She was born in 1999 and weighs 10 pounds.

Celine invites you to visit her on her very own web page.

About Hearts United for Animals

About Our Shelter...

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill animal shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization dedicated to the relief of suffering. We rescue dogs from all over the country and specialize in long distance adoptions. We take the creatures who are lost, afraid, hungry or ill and comfort them, give them a warm, soft bed, good food, medical care and most of all, love.

HUA is a place of happiness, joy and love. Everything we do is in the best interest of the dogs. There are no cages. The dogs have big fields of grass and trees in which to run. Our primary interest is what will make them happy. HUA is a place to celebrate the joy of life.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our pets are available for viewing on the internet at Come read their stories and see their individual pages.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fee for all dogs is $200.

We require an application (found on our website). We also require a home visit and vet reference check. Fenced yards are required for most dogs. Many of our dogs may not be good with children, or it may depend on the age of the children...please feel free to ask who we would consider good with young ones.

All dogs will come spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

We put the welfare of the dogs before all else and are very careful with their placement. Many of our dogs are puppy mill survivors or have otherwise been physically or emotionally traumatized. Our goal is to find them the very best homes possible where they will be loved and adored family members, where they will be kept safe and receive no less than exceptional care for the rest of their lives.
