My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amsel is a 7 year old bi-color shepherd who was imported in 2005. She has been in taught in German and American commands. Her obedience is good, but she could use a refresher. Amsel has a SchH1 title and did well in all three stages of Schutzhund. Amsel is a alpha female regarding other dogs... Amsel gets along well with medium to large dogs but I would not recommend a family that has a small breed dog. She shows interest in cats, she's been around ours and has chased them a time or two when they ran but came as soon as she was called.

Amsel loves to play fetch, is very toy motivated and enjoys being part of the family, she is a very social girl and naturally protective. She will bark at strangers until we let her know it's all right then she's ready for them to throw the ball or tug! She is very energetic and a strong girl. She settles down in the house and ends up laying down on her bed. She's a super sweet girl that loves belly rubs and to just hang out. Amsel has been around small children and does well however due to her drives/energy I am always cautious. She does excellent with kids 13 and up... has been around many and responds perfectly.
Amsel is on thyroid medication however outside of that is great health. She's been rated a-normal on hips and elbows. Please fill out an application at www.montanagsdrescue.org to adopt this dog
