nicholas's Story...
N/M, 8 years, Shih tzu mix, 15 lbs

Good day to you! I was transferred from another shelter and so little
is known about my past.

It is clear that I am a refined, mature gentleman – not old you must
understand, just beyond those puppy and youngster stages! I would
therefore appreciate a calm home where I can relax and feel at ease. I
am friendly but quite reserved until I get to know you. I very much
enjoy leisurely walks and I am interested in everything that goes on.
You will find me a devoted companion and an enthusiastic listener.
Other things I like include treats and gentle petting. You see my
needs are quite few!

All I'm looking for is a comfortable bed to call my own and a friendly
warm lap to cuddle in - do you have one waiting for me? My name is
Nicholas and I can be found on any day in the Small Dog Room at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

nicholas, a Denver Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Denver, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
