Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1/6/09 Remy is an initially shy boy that will reward his owner's patience with a lifetime of loyalty and affection. He's been living with his current family, with his brother, for six months. Unfortunately, Remy has a strong prey drive and cannot live in a household with cats, so Remy's looking for a new family.
Remy is loyal to family members, and will dutifully follow his owner all around the house and yard. He is housebroken, obeys several simple commands, adapts readily to the electric fence and obeys it consistently, and does not unnecessarily bark. He'll even obey “sit-stay” when you place steak in front of him, and will wait for permission to eat it! He likes to cuddle as well, but knows not to jump. He does well with other dogs, and has always been gentle with the neighbor children. Strangers will put Remy on his guard, and he's eager to give the alert with just a couple barks. However, he's eager to make friends as soon as his master says it's OK! He is calm and quiet inside, but loves to run outside. He loves to go on walks and never pulls the leash. In the woods, he loyally follows while off-leash.
Remy would do well in a household with another dog, as he has never been separated from his brother. They are close and affectionate, and Remy is used to having an alpha male to follow. However, Remy cannot be trusted around cats! Remy was a very shy boy when he came to us. He'll need a patient, gentle owner to encourage him to open up. However, once his trust is won, his loyalty and love are well worth the effort!
