Fergie's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Fergie's Story...
Fergie needs a foster home! She is a 5 year-old, tri-colored basset who came to BHRG from Columbia County animal control. She tested positive for heartworms and has completed treatment. Fergie is a low-maintenance hound who just wants a soft bed, some yummy treats, and an occasional belly rub. Fergie is crate-trained and housetrained. One of Fergie’s favorite things is to “wiggle” at people so they will jump at her and play. Fergie will snuggle on the couch and walks well on a leash, is quiet, and very well-behaved. She needs a quiet home, so if you are looking for a calm, quiet houndie Fergie is for you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fergie, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
